Press Release - Jerem Stothers takes the helm of BHS Mens Lax

Berkeley High School is excited to announce the hiring of Coach Jerem Stothers as the Head Coach of the Boys Lacrosse program. Jerem grew up in Berkeley, graduating from both Berkeley High and UC Berkeley. At Cal, he played four years on a top-10 nationally ranked program and was team captain his senior year. He brings over 20 years of coaching experience to BHS. In 2004, he started coaching at a new Piedmont program. Over the next 13 years, he turned Piedmont into a D2 powerhouse, winning seven league championships and contending for an NCS championship every year. In 2017, Jerem took the head coaching job at Livermore High. In his first year, he took them to their first NCS berth in program history and was EBAL Coach of the Year. Jerem has a career coaching record of 289-147 and has developed 51 first teamers and 18 All-Americans. Most importantly, Jerem has built many programs which not only do well on the field but have players who succeed in the classroom, honor the game, give back to the community and are great teammates.

Welcome home Jerem!

From Coach Stothers - I'm very excited for the opportunity to come back and coach at my alma mater. Berkeley High is a very special school, full of vibrant and unique students. I'm honored to have the opportunity to coach and mentor such young men. I look forward to building this program into an elite experience for each player and returning this program to its previous level of  success. I will work hard to create a culture that gives each student athlete an opportunity to thrive both on and off the field. Go Jackets!
