NJCAA and CCCAA

The National Junior College Athletic Association and the California Community College Athletic Association both support student-athletes during a 2-year journey for an Associates degree.

Heading to a junior or community college after high school is a great way to hone the athletic and academic skills you might need before moving on to a 4-year school. However, receiving an associates degree might be all you need for your path into the professional and vocational world. Regardless of your goals, getting connected with a school culture by participating on a sports team is a powerful tool for success and motivation.

Ask coaches, peers and other community members about strong programs in California and around the country. Some JCs and community colleges have highly competitive sports teams with resident housing and other academic support programs. Finding the right school for you might extend your athletic pathway, preparing you for competitive programs at the NCAA or NAIA level.
