Student-Athlete Resume
Your student-athlete resumé is a basic snapshot collecting all the necessary information a coach would want to see in order to learn more about you in a quick, visually simple way. It gives them an idea of who you are, your successes and your potential for growth.
Your resumé should include the following:
Student's name, address, phone and contact email
Current School with contact information
Expected graduation date and pertinent information:
Grade Point Average
SAT/ACT scores (PSAT if not yet in 11th grade)
Class Rank & Academic Interests
Personal Statitics: Date of Birth, Height, Weight, pertinent times/stats from your sport
Athletic History (in high school and club teams), including Awards and Honors
Academic Awards and other extracurriculars.
References (high school coaches, club-team coaches) who know your skills
Though every sport is different, you should know the key information and statistics that you need to include to help present your qualifications as a developing athlete who is ready/readying to play at the college level. While the “player profile” shared below is organized for football, the basic criteria listed should easily translate to your sport.
While your resumé should be visually apprealing and logically organized, the most important components are obviously the information about you. No amount of fancy colors or graphics will gloss over average accomplishments. Make it easy for the coaches to quickly find and understand the information that matters most to them.
