I am an Assistant Professor at UC Berkeley. I hold a PhD from the Stanford Graduate School of Business. I received a master’s degree in Economics and Public Policy from Sciences Po Paris and École Polytechnique.

My research has appeared in academic journals such as Nature, Management Science, and the Strategic Management Journal, and has been featured in newspapers like the Wall Street Journal. It has received funding from various sources, including the Alfred P. Sloan Foundation. I am currently an editorial board member of the journal Organization Science. My work has won multiple awards, most recently the 2024 Wharton People Analytics Competition.

I study social inequality in business performance and innovation using field experiments and novel survey data. I am passionate about using the most rigorous social scientific theories and methods to understand this phenomenon. My research agenda focuses on what drives variation in profits across firms and how we could reduce inequality in business performance among entrepreneurs in different market settings, including India, Uganda, and the US. For example, I study how business characteristics, client search behavior, and peer-to-peer advice among entrepreneurs affect business success. I have a particular interest in addressing gender inequality.

I am driven by a genuine love for teaching negotiations to different audiences, including MBA students, executives, startup founders, and scientists. I won the Cheit Award for Excellence in Teaching in 2024, the school-wide highest honor for teaching.

I am also a Faculty Affiliate at the Laboratory for Innovation Science at Harvard (LISH), the Center for Effective Global Action, and an Invited Researcher as part of the Gender and Economic Agency Initiative at J-PAL.
