Time Management with the Center for Access to Engineering Excellence

Learn best practices for how to manage your busy class schedule, coursework, clubs and student orgs, and social life from the Center for Access to Engineering Excellence (CAEE)!

Engineering Mentorship Program Presentation

Meet Monica Marquez, the program manager for the Engineering Mentorship Program (EMP), who will walk you through the services she and the mentors provide. You'll also get to hear from former PREP students who are now part of the EMP and can speak to how much mentorship has impacted their Berkeley experience.

Research Workshop/Panel Discussion

What is research in the context of academia? Why is it useful for budding engineers? How can students get research opportunities? All of these questions, and more, will be answered during our Research Workshop, where you'll get to hear from other students about the world of engineering research!

Disabled Students Program Presentation

Learn about all the support, accommodations, and services that Berkeley's Disabled Students Program (DSP) can offer to you. Whether you're interested in joining the program or not sure if you qualify, come meet the wonderful learning specialists from DSP!

Counseling and Psychological Services Presentation

It's important to know what resources you can go to before you need them. That's why two of our amazing counselors from Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS) will be presenting how you can take advantage of the support system and counseling resources that Berkeley has to offer.

Once you're all settled in, join us for some games, food, and fun! Right after the welcome dinner, we'll all convene at the new Grimes Engineering Center for a game night!

If you've never been to San Francisco, then this is the perfect opportunity for you! We'll be taking a trip to The Exploratorium, an interactive museum/laboratory, and afterward explore some of the amazing lunch and tourist spots that the city has to offer.

"PIFA" World Cup Tournament

Can't get enough soccer? Feeling that post-world cup lull? Then join us for our PREP Internationale de Fútbal Association ("PIFA") soccer tournament! You can either participate in the tournament in teams of 5, or chill on a picnic blanket with some snacks and cheer on your peers. Winners get a trophy!

Sunset Hike

Enjoy the beautiful scenery that Berkeley and the Bay Area has to offer at our Sunset Hike on the first Thursday of the program. Join us for a beautiful nature walk along the Strawberry Canyon Fire Trails, which is just a short walk from the dorms, led by one of our amazing PREP student staff, Bella Reyes.

After you move all your things into your dorm room, come join us for a special catered welcome dinner, where you will get to meet the PREP Program Manager Britt Mazorra, Director of Student Programs Marvin Lopez, and College of Engineering Dean of Students Oscar Dubon as they welcome you to the start of your Berkeley Engineering career!
