What dorms are we staying in and what time should I arrive? Can I arrive early/late?

PREP students will be staying in Unit 3 Spens Black Hall. Move in is on Monday, July 13th from 12-3pm. You can arrive any time within that window.

Where is the nearest airport?

The nearest airport is Oakland San Francisco Bay Airport. It's about a 20-25 minute car ride from campus. 

What should I bring for the program?

To get a sense of what kinds of things you can bring, check out this Berkeley Housing Move-In Checklist. Since PREP is only 3 weeks long, you won't need everything on this list, so it's up to you what you want to bring.

The dorms will provide bedding, pillows, and towels. Please make sure you bring a jacket (it gets chilly in the Bay!), good walking shoes, and professional attire if you have any. If you don't, we can provide attire for you to borrow. 

Should I bring a laptop or will one be provided?

If you have a laptop, you should definitely bring it! We have a limited supply of laptops that you can borrow if needed.

Can I stay somewhere other than Unit 3 Spens Black Hall?

No, you must stay with the other PREP students in the dorm.

Can I leave during the program?

No, you must stay during the program. If you take a look at the schedule, you'll see that there is not much time for outside activities anyway. If you want to explore the Bay Area on the weekend with some of your friends from PREP, that is fine.
