Industrial Robotics Course Final Project Fall '20
In this senior course, I explored the wide field of Industrial Robotics and Manufacturing Controls Sytems. I studied in depth the mathematical tools that characterize these kind of systems, including forward and inverse kinematics and dynamics (quaternions), and Euler-Lagrange formulation.
As a core section of the course, I worked on a project to program industrial ABB robots in the software RobotStudio, and designed several complex trajectories using RAPID programming language.
My team specifically focused on designing the manufacturing chain for surfboards. We initially crafted grippers and parts models using SolidWorks, which were then transferred into the RobotStudio environment. In the simulation, two ABB robotic arms work together to assemble surfboards of various sizes. I encourage you to watch the video below to see the results in action.
