The Pololu 4694 motor was chosen due to its peak efficiency. While our operating range will vary, we expect the 70:1 motor to best fit our average operating parameters thus maximizing efficiency. We also chose a motor with an encoder included due to the sensitive nature of our testing. This choice provides a closed feedback loop for more accurate position control during testing.
