Developing the TLC Plate with 1:1 hexanes:ethyl acetate

Observe the plate under UV and after staining with iodine

This video shows a iodine chamber. A TLC plate is then placed inside and the chamber is capped. The plate develops in the chamber and several spots are stained over time.

Record R_f values, and either develop the plate with another solvent system to see if you can get more information or continue on to Part 4.

Develop the TLC plate with 10:10:1 toluene:ethyl acetate:acetic acid
