Arrival and departure dates

Our Graduate Open House events will begin around 8:30am on Thursday, March 13 and conclude mid-day on Friday, March 14.

We recommend that you arrange your travel to arrive on Wednesday and depart on Friday afternoon/evening; you will be able to store your luggage in the Physics building and depart directly from there on Friday.

We will provide two nights of hotel stay for you. The standard check-in day will be Wednesday, March 12 after 3pm and check-out Friday, March 14 by noon.

If you are going to Stanford's Open House immediately prior to coming to Berkeley

Stanford will provide a shuttle bus directly from their campus to the Shattuck Plaza Hotel on the evening of Wednesday, March 12. Please be sure to let the Stanford coordinators know that you will need a seat on the bus.

Oakland International Airport (OAK)

Oakland International Airport is the closest airport to UC Berkeley's campus.

San Francisco International Airport (SFO)

San Francisco International Airport ("SFO") is the largest airport in the Bay area, and may offer the most options for your flight arrangements. It is about 45 minutes away from campus by car, about an hour away by BART.

Bay Area Rapid Transit (BART)

The closest stop to Berkeley's campus is Downtown Berkeley. BART serves both Oakland and San Francisco airports.

Bear Transit

Bus service on campus and in the immediate environs, including central campus, the Space Sciences Lab, and the Downtown Berkeley BART station.
