GDTP trainees get together at these events throughout the year:

GDTP Welcome Picnic

New trainees gather as a cohort for the first time with the co-directors at Memorial Glade on the UC Berkeley campus.

GDTP Orientation

Co-directors set expectations for the coming year of the GDTP, and trainees meet all the trainers.

GDTP Town Hall

Trainees have an open conversation with the co-directors about what's working well and what could be improved in the GDTP.

GDTP Excursions

Trainees take a field trip with the co-directors to talk about genetics in beautiful places like Point Reyes or the California Academy of Sciences.

GDTP Workshop on Slide Design and Oral Presentation

Trainees practice effective visual and spoken science communication.

GDTP Retreat

Trainees present on their dissertation research at an all-day genetics symposium, usually at the exceptional UC Berkeley Botanical Gardens.
