Genetic Dissection of
Cells and Organisms

NIH-Funded Training Program (T32)

Solutions to some of the defining challenges of our age – pandemics, declining life expectancies, loss of biodiversity, and resilience to climate change – will require the knowledge, leadership and problem-solving skills of rigorously-trained geneticists. The Genetic Dissection of Cells and Organisms training program aims to empower graduate students from all backgrounds to contribute to the future of genetics research, public policy, science outreach, education and the development of research applications. Students trained through our program are drawn from three departments at UC Berkeley -- Molecular & Cell Biology (MCB), Integrative Biology (IB), Plant & Microbial Biology (PMB).
