About
I am a fifth year math education PhD student in the Science and Mathematics Education (SESAME) program in UC Berkeley. I hold BA and MA degrees in mathematics from Bar Ilan University in Israel, specializing in Algebraic Topology and Geometry. Prior to coming to Berkeley, I taught in (an Israeli equivalent of) community college and Bar Ilan University. Currently, I teach in the math department at UC Berkeley.
Research interests
I am interested in mathematical semiosis and its intersection with power and ideology. That is, I study the processes by which meanings of mathematical signs get shaped, transformed and appraised in people's activity, as well as how people position each other and various cultural artifacts. My current project focuses on reading and interpretation of advanced mathematical texts.
