When creating the project through Google Sites, we ensured that all of the information was accessible through phone, tablet, and desktop browsers. The visualizations were made to be colorblind friendly, with white spaces between the subsections of the pie chart, and the legends for the line chart were applied directly atop the lines rather than off to the side of the graph. On the ‘Home’ page, we linked the different pages of the website to different clickable buttons and images with text for easy navigation. To create an interactive experience, we utilized the features offered by Google Sites such as drop down menus, subpages, hyperlinked texts, and several others. We also used TimelineJS to create an interactive timeline that provides some major events dealing with opioid usage.
On our 'Home' page, we included quick links to the other pages on the site by clicking the images, such as clicking the graph next to the 'Statistics' tab for mobile users. While you can still access the site via clicking on the "Statistics' page on the drop-down menu, we thought incorporating a quick link into the image would be a great way to incorporate aesthetics with practicality.
We acknowledge that our website is not fully accessible to those with disabilities. For further development, potential features to be embedded include text to speech and the ability to traverse through the website with only the use of keys.
