As a startup, Kiwibot offers the opportunity to create your own position based on the critical necessities of the company. Starting off as a Campus Ambassador and interacting with the community on a daily basis, I saw the demand for someone to organize the concerns of the community. By hosting monthly focus groups, informal conversations with Berkeley students, and calls with students from campuses we hope to expand to, I compiled the major issues Kiwibot faces, brainstormed relevant solutions, and began speaking to the relevant teams to launch these projects. My work later expanded to leading community development, customizing merchandise, data tracking, and becoming the main point of contact for the future Campus Ambassador and consulting Programs. I am currently focused with the user interaction aspect of our next campus expansion.
This Project was launched to allow students to be able to express themselves via the Kiwibot body. This project helped students to feel more connected to the robots which roam the streets of their university
Kiwibot Prime Facebook group is a platform limited to kiwi prime members which provides exclusive promo codes, tips, and events for our beloved prime community
Greek Life is a huge part of college culture and one of the best way for Kiwibots to be integrated to the community is to work with such. I established a partnership with Phi Delta Theta and hope to organize more throughout 2020
Focus Groups have proved revolutionary to the way Kiwibot prioritizes development projects. Groups are hosted once a month and the Product Team convenes directly to address issues based on which keywords are used the most during these focus groups. Having roughly 4-6 people from the community for each meeting allows us to identify which problems are user specific versus collective and shows that we are very open to members of the community experiencing Kiwibot Magic at our Headquarter
In addition to focus groups, it is important to speak with users informally because it gauges users experiences with more honesty than at focus groups. Users rely on their unique experiences more than collective and are more likely to express problems they have experienced because they do not feel the pressure of being at the Headquarters. Usually I conduct these field interviews at Memorial Glade (shown above) because this is where students come to relax and are happy to speak with me about future improvements
Launching Kiwibot plushies was my first project with Kiwibot and took off with quite a hit among the student community. Users had often told me that "Kiwibots are so cute I wish I could take one home." We have sold over 500 units of Kiwibot plushies
With the realization that almost all college students own cell phones and seeing the trend of college students wearing lanyards to hold their house keys, we decided to create lanyards with USB charging cables for iPhone lightning cable, USB-C, and micro USB
For startups especially, data is crucial to ensure quality service with optimized resources. I have worked with creating metrics through Python, such as the one above, to analyze previous performances, as well as models to help predict future behaviors. I also work with organizing the databases so we are better able to communicate this information to the whole team
