Organized by the Society for Science and the public, the Thermo Fisher Scientific Junior Innovators Challenge (previously called Broadcom MASTERS) is the nation's top science and engineering competition for middle schoolers. The Bergen SciChallenge is one of only a few fairs in New Jersey that can nominate students to apply for participation. Finalists (as determined by our judges) are eligible to apply to the national competition in Washington, DC to present their research projects, compete in hands-on team STEM challenges, and take home $100,000.00 in prizes. We are proud to share we have had many national finalists and semi-finalists in the past!
Please note: The top 10%, nominated by our judges at the Bergen SciChallenge, are eligible to apply for the Thermo Fisher Scientific Junior Innovators Challenge. Only participants in grades 6-8 are eligible to be nominated and apply. The competition will be held in August and will be located in Washington, DC.
