This year, all of my science students will be participating in March Mammal Madness. This is a fun event organized by the University of Arizona every year that a handful of students did through an after school club in 2023. It is a bracket style competition which puts various animals in research-based, simulated battles. Students will be researching the animals and habitats to fill in their bracket and will complete a CER (Claim, evidence, reasoning) based on who they think will win. There may even be a trophy winner in each class for the most accurate bracket!
Check out the official website for more info.
Once competitions begin, I will try to post updates on this page.
The first MMM Article has been released revealing the four divisions:
Take a Bow- Animals that perform in order to mate, eat, or care for their young
Epic Animals- Species featured in or named from literature
