Hello Parents,

I wanted to provide an update on 2 changes due to the shift to remote learning at MG:

Open Note Test- The end of unit 2 exam which was originally scheduled to be held Friday 10/30 and Monday 11/2 has been changed to an open note test, which will occur on Friday 10/30. Students will be able to use their completed unit 2 note packets (bright orange front page) and books during the test. However, the test will need to be completed during their scheduled class period with chromebook cameras on. Two points of caution, which I have also shared with the students. IF a student tries to look up every single answer, they are likely to run out of class time. I would suggest that students complete all questions that they know and then go back to look up answers for questions they found difficult. ALSO if their note packets aren't filled in, they are missing out on that potential resource.

Note Packets for the next unit- I handed out the materials packet for Unit 3 to the Track A students on Monday, before school closed. Track B students did not receive those materials. I will make all of these items available digitally, but sometimes it is difficult to juggle screens on the chromebook. If your student prefers to have a hard copy, I also left printed packets in the materials pickup location on the grade 8 table at MG. The front page has a heading: Living Environment Unit 3.
