STRATEGIC PRIORITY

Cultivate connections in our schools and community to ensure all feel safe, valued, and engaged in meaningful ways.

AIMS:

Foster partnerships between students, parents, and staff to support each learner's growth and development.
Foster the ability and desire for learners to positivily contribute to their classroom, campus, and community.
Create school-community partnerships through communication and connection to support aims for student learning.

Meet usage goals established for the BISD Learner Portfolio.
Meet or exceed annually established performance measures for volunteerism and positive contribution within our district and community.
The percent of at-risk students who successful engage in academic opportunities provided by BISD is wihtin 10 percentage points of the demographic landscape of our student population.

BISD LEARNER RECOGNIZES & APPLIES UNIQUE GIFTS AND STRENGTHS:

Effectively utilize the BISD Learner Portfolio with students, staff, and parents to create a whole-child perspective of our learners.
Provide opportunities for students to explore their interests through clubs and apply their strengths through student-led committees and volunteer opportunities to positively contribute to our campuses and community.

BISD LEARNER VALUES LEARNING & PERSONAL GROWTH:

Develop metrics to track levels of access and attainment of students in special programs in each academic pathway.
Develop tools, capacity, and time to engage students and parents in data and goal setting.

BISD LEARNER THINKS CRITICALLY & CREATIVELY:

Establish internship and practicum opportunities within our community to support all students at that point in their learning journey.

BISD LEARNER EXHIBITS CHARACTER & KINDNESS:

Create opportunities for mentorship and connection (student-student, student-staff, and staff-student) to ensure all feel seen and valued.
Establish structures to implement and monitor development of positive school-home connections through communication and visitations.

BISD LEARNER DEMONSTRATES DRIVE & PERSONAL RESPONSIBILITY:

Define and implement performance monitoring for case management of at-risk families' accessing educational opportunities.
Develop and implement a tool to track the positive contribution (volunteer hours) of students and staff to our district and community.
Enhance engagement in our community-based advisory committees.

BISD LEARNER LEADS & COMMUNICATES EFFECTIVELY:

Enhance our contribution to the community and opportunities for school-community engagement through the BISD Learning Center and the BISD Education Foundation.
Enhance school-community relations through communications including publications, newspapers, website, social mediate, and engagement-events.
