Different from a regular after-school job, work-based learning programs are school supervised experiences that allow for a student to observe, train, and/or work with an employer to discover how knowledge learned in school is put into action, while gaining applicable worksite skills.

Students are enrolled as a Junior or Senior.
Students locate part-time employment, work 15 hours per week and are granted one release block for a half-credit per semester or one credit for the year.
Must complete the Wildcat Work Experience application and have it approved by Mrs. Gartley before it is added to the student schedule.
Student without sufficient attendance and grades will be allowed to participate in the program for 1/2 credit per semester by working after school and on the weekends and completing all weekly Work Experience assignments. They would not have a work release block, meaning they would stay at school.
Students are required to maintain acceptable attendance and attend all required advisory periods and class meetings.
Students are required to maintain passing grades in all classes,
Students are expected to have appropriate behavior in any school- related setting,
Student unable to manage acceptable attendance, behavior and passing grades will have the release blocks suspended until all grades are passing. If this happens more than three times during the semester removal from the program will be considered,
Grades will be entered as PASS or FAIL on report cards and transcripts,
Students enroll in WildcatvWork Experience Google Classroom/JobReady 360 and will complete weekly short assignments focused on employment skills, and career development,
Students will participate in work evaluations with the STC Coordinator and employer.
Students will assist with the thank you card and gift for their employer/mentors.
