Internship Program
When a career pathway does not have a entry-level certified state Youth Apprenticeship Program; Internship is an option for Juniors or Seniors.
How it Works?
The student must qualify as they would for Youth Apprenticeship. Prior related coursework, good attendance and grades along with a sincere career interest is a must.
Meet with Mrs. Gartley for an interview and planning meeting.
Determine mentors willing to take on this responsibility and have the student/parents make contact with them first. The School-to-Career Coordinator ( STC) will follow-up to answer questions and organize the experience.
These placement are not paid positions.
Determine appropriate coursework which will vary depending on the career pathway and availability at the time at BHS or elsewhere.

Students will earn 1/2 credit per semester and spend 6-8 hours per week between the face-to-face placement and related coursework.
Mrs. Gartley will communicate the plan and credits to Mrs. Way.
Grades will be PASS/FAIL and assigned by the STC Coordinator.
