Winter 2023/2024

TIP-KY

If you have a 7th or 8th grade gifted student, TIP-KY is a program that offers above level testing for students. Check out the video on the left to learn about the advantages of above level testing. TIP-KY allows 7th and 8th grade students to take the ACT (without the writing section) early. Students can sign up to take the test using the link here. The cost of the test is $95. After registering, you will receive a voucher and reporting code to sign up for the test. If you have any questions about TIP-KY, please contact Mrs. Ritchie.

Progress Reports

Don't forget that we are changing how gifted and talented student progress is reported at Beechwood. Gifted and talented students will now have a section on their report card labeled, “Gifted and Talented” or “GT.”  Progress will be reported, based on classroom teacher input, in this section at the end of each semester. Students will be marked “M” for Meets progress or “N” for Not meeting progress. Students not meeting progress will have a comment from the specific teacher. Families will receive a more detailed report with specific classroom comments from teachers in March.
