Unit 5: Chem Rxns & Stoich

Unit Objectives: At the completion of this Chemical Reactions & Stoichiometry unit, 

1. I can give examples of proof that a chemical reaction is occurring. (CK12 Sections 2.13, 2.14, 2.15, 2.16, 2.17, 2.18)

2. I can translate word equations into formula equations into Lewis Structure and/or 3D models, identifying where bonds are broken and formed, and explain how the Law of Conservation of Matter is upheld. (CK12 Sections 11.1, 11.2, 11.3)

3. I can identify and predict the products of the 5 types of chemical reactions: synthesis, decomposition, single replacement, double replacement, and combustion. (CK12 Sections 11.4, 11.5, 11.6, 11.7, 11.8, 11.9, 16.20)

4. I can perform stoichiometry calculations based on the understanding of the mole concept in terms of number of particles and mass. (CK12 Sections 12.1, 12.2, 12.3, 12.4)

5. I can identify the limiting reagent in a reaction and perform stoichiometry calculations. (CK12 Sections 12.7, 12.8)

6. I can calculate the percent yield of a reaction. (CK12 Section 12.9)
