The Bedford High School Intersession experience is best explored with fellow Bulldogs: An opportunity to connect with both student peers and staff mentors from our everyday academic life in a new shared context. Community growth is a major tenet of the solid platform on which running the Intersession program is built.
However, even Intersession has its limits. Designing a personalized Intersession experience is an available option for seniors.Â
Alternative Intersession is a good option for a student if:
They have an interest area that is not satisfied by the current year's content catalog
An educational opportunity from an outside group creates a scheduling conflict with the school calendar
They want to plan an experience without a financial commitment
If you wish to pursue another option during intersession, alternative Intersession procedures are as follows:
During Intersession Sign Ups
Write a proposal for the activity you wish to pursue using the document on the right. This document will help you plan an activity that fulfills the expectations (learning objectives, RWL opportunities) of a qualified Intersession.
Once the proposal is completed, you need to schedule a meeting with the principal. You should do this through the Principal's Secretary. At this meeting, you will use your proposal to talk the Principal through your plan and answer any follow up questions. Bring your proposal with you, with all necessary signatures. Every member of the group should attend. Parents do not need to attend.
After the meeting, you will be manually added into Alternative Intersession on PowerSchool.
Alternative Intersession planning must be complete by November 13th.
