Matura-Taylor County Neighborhood Center-Food Pantry offers many supports to the community in regards to food and clothing/home needs:
Matura-Taylor County Neighborhood Center Food Pantry: The pantry’s mission is to provide nonperishable food and personal items to meet the short-term needs of those living in the Taylor County Community School Districts.

Matura-Taylor County Neighborhood Center: is a community-run, nonprofit that accepts clothing donations in order to provide clothing to those in need.

Taylor County Health is available to all Taylor County residents. These nurses connect clients with resources to meet their needs. This may include filling out paperwork, completing phone calls, or learning how to navigate the healthcare system. The program aims to help clients improve their overall quality of life and advocate for their own health needs.

Taylor County Public Health Dental provides preventative dental services and helps link kids and families to dentists / dental care. They are also able to help overcome any barriers they have to care, like transportation issues, needing help applying for insurance, unpaid bills etc.
Iowans are able to access dental insurance at a very affordable cost and sometimes free through the Hawki Dental Only plan. Check out the flyer below to find out how to apply.
Insurance Services
The Children’s Health Insurance Program (CHIP) is offered through the Healthy and Well Kids in Iowa program, also known as Hawki. Iowa offers Hawki health coverage for uninsured children of working families.

Homelessness Services
The Education for Homeless Children and Youth (EHCY) program is authorized under Title VII-B of the McKinney-Vento Homeless Assistance Act, most recently re-authorized December 2015 by the Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA).
Definition of a Homeless Child/Youth
A homeless child or youth ages 3-21;
A child who lacks a fixed, regular and adequate nighttime residence and includes the following:
A child who is sharing the housing of others (includes doubled-up families) due to loss of housing, economic hardship, or a similar reason; is living in a motel, hotel, or camping grounds due to the lack of alternative accommodations; is living in an emergency or transitional shelter; is abandoned in a hospital
A child who has a primary nighttime residence that is a public or private place not designed for or ordinarily used as a regular sleeping accommodation for humans beings
A child who is living in a car, park, abandoned building, substandard housing, bus or train station, or similar setting; or
A migratory child/youth who qualifies as homeless because of the living circumstances described above
Includes youth who have runaway or youth being forced to leave home.
