I am Sanaa from Yemen and I took this picture in May 2023 during my visit to Ras Sidr near Cairo. I chose this picture because the beach has been always my favorite place. Whenever I have a holiday I prefer to go to the beach. Its peaceful, clean and far from the noise of everyday life. I enjoy swimming, watching the waves and feeling the warm sun.

My favorite place is Bora Bora Island. Although I've never been there, it's my #1 paradise dream vacation. It is a small island located in the South Pacific Ocean and is part of the Society Islands in French Polynesia, an overseas territory of France. There is a lot of natural scenery and especially known for their luxury overwater bungalow resorts. I am especially fascinated by the resorts. I can wake up to a beautiful blue-green ocean view, eat and drink, lounge in a chair and read a book, see through the turtles, starfish under the water in my room all day. I will not feel bored. In the afternoon, I'd treat myself to a spa session or a soothing massage to relax both body and mind. Other days, I can explore their stunning turquoise lagoon, vibrant coral reefs, and lush mountainous landscapes. Every corner of Bora Bora offers a new kind of beauty, and I know I'd never tire of being surrounded by such awe-inspiring nature.

Potiredaba a small city that is located in the state of Sao Paulo, Brazil. I lived in this city for about 10 years. This was a happy city and the people were very nice. We had a lot of joyful memories. Our house there had a big backyard. We raised ducks, chickens and rabbits. We used eggs to hatch chicks and ducklings and we had fresh eggs to eat for a whole year. Also, we planted a lot of vegetables like sweet corn, lettuce, tomatoes and chayote. Sometimes, we traded vegetables with our neighbors.
Potirendaba is one of my favorite places.I am planning to visit there in the near future again.

My favorite place in Portland is the viewpoint near Pittock Mansion. It’s close to my home, so I can go there easily. The mansion costs money to enter, but the viewpoint is free, which I really like. From there, I can see all of downtown Portland, some beautiful bridges, and on clear days, Mount Hood in the distance. I like going there during the day and also at night. In the daytime, the city looks bright and open. At night, the lights make it look peaceful and magical.
Before I moved to Oregon, I lived in flat areas my whole life, so I had rarely seen snow-covered mountains. Being able to see one so close to home now makes me really happy. It’s something I don’t take for granted.
Do you know the Snoqualmie Falls is more than twice as high as Niagara Falls?

When we talk about Seattle, what places come to mind? Space Needle, Pike Place Market or the first Starbucks?
This spring break, my family took a short trip to Seattle. We found a wonderful place to visit - Snoqualmie (snuh-kwaal-mee) Falls. As short as 30 minutes driving from downtown Seattle, you will find yourself escaping from a concrete jungle entering to a lush, greenly open landscape. The lower parking lot costs $7, but there is a free parking area just across the road. From there, it is only a 3-minute walk to the observation deck. Besides to admiring and listening to the roar of this breathtaking waterfall, you can enjoy a 1.5mile moderately challenging trail along the waterfall. It usually takes about 45 minutes to complete. Looking for some souvenirs or snacks? You will find a gift shop and restrooms located near the parking area.
Next time, when you are in Seattle, don’t forget to check out this natural and historical hidden gem.

As an Indian immigrant, I have visited many beautiful places in the United States that I can’t explain in a few words. I always feel amazed to explore these places every time. Although my favorite place is not one of them, it’s my parent’s house. The place where I would love to go again and again. The love for our parent’s house always remains in our heart but we never realized it. The realization occurs when we live so far from them.
The comfort of sitting with my parents in any corner of the house always brings an infinite level of satisfaction within my heart. Also, the delicious home cooked foods, I can hardly stop my cravings after having enough food. However, these are not enough reasons for me to like the place. I like this because of my loved ones and being able to enjoy my inner childish things with my siblings.

Ling woke up at 6 am. This was a hot summer morning as usual. She was thinking where she would go and what she would play today. Go with Fang to the swimming pool or go to the bank of the river to play pebbles ? “Today is my special day. My mom will allow me to do things I really want, ” she thought. Her mind flew thousands of miles away, then her eyelids dropped slowly, she went back to her sweet dream again.
Fang chased her on the bank. Ling ran as fast as she could. Under the bright sun, in the middle of the summer, she ran, ran, and ran. She breathed with difficulty, then she stopped in front of a small man-made cave which was a shelter that was built a long time ago. She entered the cave. Inside the cave, a cold breeze, the cooling air made her feel soothing. She felt some water drop down on her head, she was thirsty and wanted to get the dripping water. While she was stretching out of her tongue she woke up. Beside the bed, there was her mom who was holding a dried- palm- leaves fan, to give her a gentle wave, a smile.
The sesame oil flavor filled the whole room. She got up and saw two cooked eggs with sweet soup in a bowl. She was so happy, she had waited for this day for a year! “ Happy birthday, Ling!” her mom said. She thanked her mom, then finished everything in the bowl in one minute.
This was Ling’s childhood. Many years passed, and she still remembers the day as clear as crystal. In that time, foods, fruits, eggs, milk, and sugar were limited for living, and families had to save everything for emergencies as if someone got sick. Even though life was difficult, Ling's mother always remembered her husband, and her children’s birthdays, and she had never forgotten treating the two eggs for her loved one!
Now life is much better, the eggs no longer seem too precious, but Ling's family still keeps the tradition. Ling and her siblings live in different cities, they cook two eggs on the birthdays for their own families. Between their siblings, when someone’s birthday comes, the others always remind the birthday person:“ Cook two eggs! .” The love, and feeling being loved, heart to heart connection and legacy remembrance are in Ling’s family!

A fragment of memories, a piece that I tenderly keep in my heart. Our first New Year in the USA, the mood is strange, it is difficult to believe in the approach of the holiday when it is pouring outside and everything is green, it is so unlike snowy Russia.
So my kids are 6 and 8, we are trying to create a festive mood, we are making toy snowmen. It's all pretty simple, just take two unpaired socks, I believe you should have no problem with this…
Oh, an important note, one of the socks must be white. You will also need 3 hair ties, cereal (I used rice), a marker, scissors, small buttons and glue. The children do not want to sit down, they run around putting socks on their hands and trying to catch each other, laughing. I pretend to be strict, but I start laughing with them.
Our cat looks at us suspiciously from the mantelpiece... I am so glad that she is with us, that we were able to take her with us. Without her, we would not be complete. It is part of raising children - to explain to them that we are responsible for those we have tamed. Our cat is part of our family.
Finally. Take a white sock, this will be the body of the snowman. Fill it with rice or synthetic padding. Form the head into a ball and tie it with an elastic band. Form two smaller balls along the edges of the body - these will be the arms. There were some difficulties at the stage of the arms. Children's fingers could not cope and my eldest son began to lose patience and began to express doubts that this was possible. Perhaps you will have to help with this.
Cut off a part with an elastic band from a colored sock, about 7 centimeters, this will be a hat. Put it on the snowman's body. Something has started to work out and the children are sniffling with concentration, sticking out their tongues. I'm happy. Tie the top of the colored sock in a knot, you'll get something like a funny pompom.
Do you see? You're doing great! The daughter is trying to find a name for the toy, the son says that he will name his own after her. Now I will write Valeria on it. The son says. No, don't you dare! Mom, why is he...well, tell him!!! The daughter screams. They squeal, run after each other, try to take away the felt-tip pen, then start laughing.
The children squeal with joy. "Look at mine, and look at mine!" they shout. I praise everyone. It turned out quite cute. We hug, and now we feel the festive New Year's mood. They take their favorites Olaf and Marshmallow to bed.
The kids are asleep, my husband and I are opening a bottle of champagne. We are happy. Happy New Year
This evening will forever hold a place in my heart - "Heartplace"

I hope my story won't get any rotten tomatoes, as it may not look as romantic as the stories I read for reference. Of course, I would talk about my favorite restaurant, the best country I've visited, or even the old swings in my grandma's courtyard. But the only place I can enjoy anytime is my Notion space.
If you don't know what Notion is, think of it as your digital notebook with various tools to organize every part of your life. Of course, I have essential pages like ESL class notes, a daily to-do list, or a financial planner. But things that really comfort me are more direct: book tracker, recipe cards, chords for my ukulele practice, work payrolls calculator, and much more. I even created a personal page for my cat Squeekie, where I log her weight, diet, and schedule (the modern crazy cat lady, isn't she?).
However, the real magic that makes Notion my favorite place to dwell is automation. Even a simple to-do list can make you love tracking it. Check it out on the visual. I have a column with a plant emoji indicating how far the task is from today. Tasks that won't happen soon show seedlings beside them. Tasks for tomorrow are indicated with a potted plant. Today’s things got a rose, and overdue assignments are automatically marked with a dead flower when it’s time. And hey, if that’s not romance in the 21st century, I don’t know what is.

My Grandma passed away years ago. Her name was Paula de Ortíz.
My Grandma Paula was born in a small city, Aroa, in a North Central Venezuela State, Yaracuy. At that time and during years on after, Aroa was considered a “Gem” because of copper mines “The Aroa Mines.” Mining started in 1632, when Venezuela was a Spanish colony, and at the end of the colonial period the Bolívar family owned the mines. Simón Bolívar had the title of “The Liberator” because he and his troops fought against the Spaniards conquered for freedom.
The ancestors of my grandma were Spaniards, and she married my grandpa, a Black man, maybe with African ancestors. They lived in Aroa and had nine children. My Mom was the seventh. Years later, my grandma, my grand grandma and my uncles and aunties relocated to Venezuela’s capital, Caracas.
My grandma was an exceptional person. She worked her whole life despite her level of school education. She sewed beautiful dresses for artists, then she rented rooms for college students in her own house. Years on, every Friday night, my siblings, my grandma, and I watched TV. Meanwhile my grandma diligently made pastry flowers and a variety of decorations for cakes, cookies and more. I was around 8 years old. I have in my mind our quote “grandma that flower isn’t looking good” followed by “we might eat it.” It was our preferred banter. She was a woman of a certain age, but she decided to attend adult cooking classes and reached new skills. Suddenly, Paula de Ortíz hosted a cooking TV educational program, she had an enormous quantity of clients, and became a cooking teacher in the same school where she had studied. She had the opportunity to reconnects with her teachers with talent.
My parents frequently traveled abroad, and many times they dropped us off at my grandma's house. I am heartbroken with sweet memories of those days. We did puzzles, cross words, and short trips to the beach or my grandma town on the public buses! My siblings and I were flabbergasted traveling with other people, chickens, parrots, and besides sleeping there on the bus. In her house, we always helped her to cook, envelop the food beautifully for her clients, and clean up the messy kitchen. When I turned 15th she made my birthday cake, and when I got married, my grandma made our wedding cake.
My grandma taught me generosity and kindness when she usually invited a stranger to eat at her table. My grandma taught me principles and values like perseverance, responsibility, respectfully, arduous work, and love for each other. My grandma taught me resilience, she never gave up.
In honor of Paula de Ortíz.

I recently discovered a popular AI app called ChatGPT, and I love it! It has a lot of useful functions, such as text generation and editing, language translation and learning, coding assistance, research and knowledge retrieval, idea generation and brainstorming, productivity and organization, image generation, or data analysis, etc. I often ask it simple or complex questions about anything, create files, or generate pictures. Not only can it convert multiple receipts into a table, but it can also create customized images. I was really amazed when I uploaded my photo and asked it to generate a cartoon of me—it did it in just a few minutes and gave me a cartoon picture. I even used it to create a 3D interior design drawing for free, and it looked like a professional designer would make!
How to Create a Picture with ChatGPT? If you want to generate a specific type of picture, just upload your photo and type: “Please use this photo to create a new version (cartoon, 3D, etc.) for me.” Free users get three image generations per day, while subscribed members enjoy unlimited creations.
