Hello and welcome! We’re so excited to share the very first edition of the BLC Student Newsletter—a space for students to practice English, express themselves, and connect with the BLC community.
This issue’s theme is “Favorite Places”. We received almost 100 submissions.
Students from all levels have shared stories, pictures, and memories about special places in their lives, some in their home countries, others here in the U.S., and even favorite spots in their homes.
We hope you enjoy reading their voices and experiences. You’ll also find English learning tips, fun activities, and messages from teachers. Thank you to all the students and teachers who helped make this happen!
Happy reading,
Trang & Aleks – Newsletter Editors
BLC would not be the same without teacher Jim Keniston. Jim started teaching with BLC 25 years ago! For a long time, Jim and his wife JoeLynn managed all of BLC. They managed placement testing, registration, volunteers, classes, and the Bethel location. Jim is still a board member, volunteer coordinator, Bethel location manager, and, of course, a beloved Level 1 teacher. BLC would really not be the same without Jim’s work over the years and today.
Thank you Jim, and happy anniversary!
