Track and Field Season Information and Expectations:

What is Track and Field and Who Are the Athletes?

Track is an individual sport wrapped up in a team concept.  Teams compete against one another and points are scored.  There are 17 events in track and field where athletes with coaching can explore and improve their strengths.  The main event areas are distance running, throwing, sprinting, jumping, hurdling, and vaulting.

Our athletes are diverse and come with various goals.  We have returning athletes who want to improve their PR's (personal records) and some with goals of reaching and winning state.  We have multi-sport athletes who want to continue getting better in their primary sport by training and competing.  We have student athletes that are wanting to get to know others by getting involved through a school sport, we also have student athletes where this is their first time ever doing track or any organized sport.  All are welcome!

What we ask from all our student athlete's is to demonstrate our fundamental pillars of Care, Commit, and Compete.

                                                                                To Give Their Best Everyday!

Competition in Meets

As we enter our competitive season, it is necessary for athletes to complete the trainings during the week in order to compete in the meets. Coaches will be determining meet entries on Mondays with the ability to make adjustments/deletions on Tuesday.  Obviously, if an athlete is injured or sick and not able to train during practice, the athlete will not be ready for competition that same week.

Nutrition is key to better performance.  Stay hydrated by drinking plenty of water and fueled by eating well-balanced meals throughout the day.  The expectation is that athletes stay for the entire home meet to continue supporting all teammates and attend post meet team meeting, and help put equipment away.
