Pole Vault Coach

Ryan Hooten

I’m Ryan Hooten, a 2019 Southridge alumni and one of the Pole Vault coaches now! I’ve done track since my freshman year of high school, and started pole vault my junior year. I went on to make state my senior year, then walked on to the track team at Westmont College. At Westmont, I eventually earned a scholarship, was selected as one of the senior captains, and qualified for NAIA Outdoor Nationals.
A fun fact about me is I am the 6th highest vaulter in Westmont’s track program history at 15’7”.  I’m also an avid climber, and can be seen frequently at the local climbing gyms around Portland!
I thoroughly enjoy the sport and hope to pass the knowledge and passion I have to the athletes here at Southridge.
