The IB Career-related Program is IB's newest program of study and allows students in grades 11 and 12 who are passionate about a career path to receive the benefits--both intrinsic and extrinsic--of an IB education while pursuing their chosen Career Technical Education (CTE) pathway.
To earn your IB CP Certificate:
• Complete one CTE career pathway:
o Business / Marketing
o Computer Science
o Engineering Technology
o Sports Medicine
o Auto Tech (@ Aloha)
o Behavioral Health (@ Sunset)
o Construction (@ Merlo)
o Health Careers (@ BHS)
o Manufacturing (@ Westview)
o Sustainable Agriculture (@ Terra Nova)
• Take at least two IB courses
o At least one must be a 2-year course
• Study a second language junior & senior year
o Take a class, or 50 hours self-study
• Complete 50 hours Community Service
• Take IB Personal and Professional Skills class (PPS)
o Within PPS, complete your “Reflective Project”:
Ethical research investigation
3000-word paper OR multimedia project
Don't forget to select PPS and have a CTE pathway in mind when forecasting!!
