The IB Career-related Program at Southridge
The IB Career-related Program is IB's newest program of study and allows students in grades 11 and 12 who are passionate about a career path to receive the benefits--both intrinsic and extrinsic--of an IB education while pursuing their chosen Career Technical Education (CTE) pathway.
To earn your IB CP Certificate:
• Complete one CTE career pathway:
o Business / Marketing
o Computer Science
o Engineering Technology
o Sports Medicine
o Auto Tech (@ Aloha)
o Behavioral Health (@ Sunset)
o Construction (@ Merlo)
o Health Careers (@ BHS)
o Manufacturing (@ Westview)
o Sustainable Agriculture (@ Terra Nova)
• Take at least two IB courses
o At least one must be a 2-year course
• Study a second language junior & senior year
o Take a class, or 50 hours self-study
• Complete 50 hours Community Service
• Take IB Personal and Professional Skills class (PPS)
o Within PPS, complete your “Reflective Project”:
Ethical research investigation
3000-word paper OR multimedia project
Don't forget to select PPS and have a CTE pathway in mind when forecasting!!

A challenging yet accessible curriculum with exciting classes that emphasize student interest in terms of career pathway.
Many different career pathways from which to choose.
An internationally recognized program.
Community involvement through businesses and education partnerships.
The ability to choose service learning activities of special interest to the student.
Access to college-level International Baccalaureate classes based on inquiry and research.
Possibility of college credit and academic scholarships.
Being part of a global community.
A class centered on personal and professional skills.

Important note: to indicate your desire to pursue the IBCP, make sure you forecast for Personal and Professional Skills for your Junior year and complete the Southridge Options for Study form.
