IB Approaches to Learning

Why IB?

IB courses help all students to truly develop the habits of learning and to prepare to be life-long learners.  Here is what some students say:

"I truly value a challenge ... working in IB classes really does build work ethic and encourages higher thinking and discussion."

"IB allows forces you to break out of being shy, you make a lot of new friends and connections who are in the same classes as you, and earning college credit saves $$$!"

IB courses earn weighted grades at Southridge, and students can earn college credit by taking the IB Exams.

Are there costs associated with IB?

Students who want to test in an IB subject, for the chance to earn college credit, must pay for the IB Exam Fee.

IB Courses at SRHS are open to ALL Juniors and Seniors and we have LOTS of options!

You do not need to join an IB program or take the IB exams to take advantage of our interesting and engaging IB courses - check out all your options below:

If you missed the meeting, you can find the link to the recording on a ParentSquare message that was sent on March 7th by Mr. Grimm.

For more information about the IB at Southridge, talk to IB DP coordinator Ms. Ballard, IB CP coordinator Mr. Grimm, or IB counselor Mr. Martin.  Or, ask an IB teacher!
