The year has begun, and my students have started attending their fun GRR class. The first story we will be reading is titled "How To Be A Perfect Person". One aspect of being gifted for students is they feel like they have to be perfect. This is a wonderful story that helps the children understand nobody is perfect! The other books we will read this year are Toothpaste Millionaire, Who were the Wright Brothers and The Wright Brothers, Pioneers of American Aviation. This year my third graders start the Math Pentathlon program that really makes the children think and learn to plan ahead. They will be learning FIAR, Sum Dominos, Juggle, and Par 55. The students will take a Learning Styles survey and a Multiple Intelligence survey. The information the students gain from these surveys help them to understand how they learn best and gain the most information from lessons. Their big project for the year will be designing a toy factory. They will also design a toy that they make like to build at their factory. This is a year long project and has many components to it. I will invite parents in to see our final project when it is complete.
