GIFTED RESOURCE ROOM
The Gifted Pull-Out Program offers students 225 minutes of specialized instruction each week in the Gifted Resource Room. This year, the Gifted Resource Room will be located in the Fox Den (P60), alongside all fifth-grade classrooms.
Each grade level in the program has a unique thematic focus:
Third Grade: Students will engage in Creative Critical Thinking and explore the theme of Inventions, with a particular emphasis on notable Dayton inventors, including the Wright Brothers. This theme encourages students to think outside the box and develop innovative solutions.
Fourth Grade: The focus will be on Crime Scene Investigation (CSI) / Mysteries and various parts of each one. Students will learn the fundamentals of crime scene investigation and will have the opportunity to solve an array of mystery cases, honing their analytical and deductive reasoning skills.
Fifth Grade: The curriculum centers around Travel and Space. Students will embark on a vacation travel unit, which includes reading novels about exciting road trips. This theme not only broadens their geographical knowledge but also stimulates their imaginations about exploration.
We are excited to support your child's growth and development through this enriching program!

Greetings, Everyone!
I am Ms. Frasse (pronounced like "Sassy"), one of the five Gifted Intervention Specialists in the Beavercreek City School District. This year, I have the privilege of teaching at both Fairbrook Elementary and Trebein Elementary. With 36 years of teaching experience—21 of which have been dedicated to Beavercreek—I am deeply passionate about nurturing the growth and development of our gifted students.
As a proud resident of Beavercreek, I graduated from Beavercreek High School in 1979 (Go Beavers!). I am also a proud mother of two wonderful sons. My oldest son resides and works in Tampa, Florida, while my younger son lives and works in Denver, Colorado. My eldest, who is thriving in the finance sector, is married and has two adorable daughters who bring immense joy to our family. You may have seen him featured on CNBC! My youngest son, also a Beavercreek graduate, is making significant strides in finance and is enjoying the many opportunities that come with homeownership in Colorado.
I take great pride in both of my sons and am thrilled to be a grandmother to my two delightful granddaughters.
If you need to reach me, please feel free to email me at cynthia.frasse@beavercreek.k12.oh.us or call me at 937-429-7616. I will be posting a monthly newsletter on Parent Square to keep you informed about our classroom activities and important upcoming events.
Thank you, and I look forward to an exciting and productive year together!
Curriculum Overview
At Beavercreek Elementary Schools, specialized pull-out services are provided for cognitively gifted students in grades 3, 4, and 5. These services are led by a licensed gifted intervention specialist and occur in a dedicated resource room, where students benefit from approximately 225 minutes of targeted instruction each week.
The primary objective of the gifted curriculum is to address the standards for creative and critical thinking, while also attending to the social and emotional needs of gifted learners. Additionally, the curriculum is designed to meet essential standards in Mathematics and English Language Arts. To achieve these aims, a diverse array of extension and enrichment activities is integrated, challenging students and enhancing their cognitive skills.
These advanced activities are meticulously crafted to stretch students' cognitive abilities, promoting a deeper understanding of complex concepts. Through participation in these enriched experiences, students not only develop their talents but also acquire valuable skills essential for both academic success and personal growth.
Policies for Gifted Services
Scheduled GRR Time: Students will not miss their scheduled Gifted Resource Room (GRR) time for classroom projects, tests/quizzes, or discipline issues unless prior arrangements have been made with the Gifted Intervention Specialist (GIS), preferably with 24 hours' notice.
Make-Up Work: Students are responsible for making up tests/quizzes and understanding the content missed while attending GRR. However, they are not required to complete any missed classwork. Please consult your child's teacher regarding how missed tests/quizzes will be made up and how missed content will be communicated. Additionally, students will not miss recess to complete make-up work.
Grading: No grades for gifted services are reported to the classroom teacher, and gifted grades do not appear on the student's report card.
Academic Standards: Students in GRR must maintain a minimum average of "C" in their regular classrooms.
