Dual/Concurrent College Enrollment
Dual Enrollment VS. Concurrent Enrollment
Dual Enrollment
Students register to take MSJC courses at the BHS campus.
Courses are taught by BHS teachers and are incorporated into their regualr 6 period day.
These courses simultaneoulsy meet high school graduation requirements, A-G requirements, and provide college credit if classes are passed with a C or better.
Concurrent Enrollment
Students register for courses offered at a community college/university (online or in person).
Counselors approve courses and can provide consultation but students and parents are responsible for completing the process.
Classes can be added to their high school transcript if they meet required or recommended A-G requirements but it is not required to add classes to high school transcripts.
Dual Enrollment
What is Dual Enrollment?
MSJC courses taught by BUSD teachers at BHS.
Faster paced (1 sem = 10 HS credits)
Dual enrollment students are students at both MSJC and BHS. The 2 schools work together to create classes and enroll students.
Dual Enrollment Process:
Students must have a minimum GPA of 3.0
Students fill out the Dual Enrollment interest form during pre-registration.
Deadlines for filling out interest forms and submitting documents are provided to students in advance each semester.
Dual Enrollment Counselor distributes and collects signed School Parent Agreement (SPA) Forms
Dual Enrollment Counselor sends SPA forms to MSJC.
New Dual Enrollment students: Apply to be a MSJC student, using the California Community College application: (Use personal email, not BHS student gmail account)

Concurrent Enrollment
What is Concurrent Enrollment?
The term “concurrent enrollment” means that you are enrolled in two separate schools at the same time. Concurrent classes are taught by college faculty, online or in-person at one of their campuses outside of the regular school day.
Concurrent enrollment requires submission of the Concurrent Enrollment Registration Form and the BHS Concurrent Enrollment Contract: Click here for the BHS Concurrent Enrollment Contract
You must have approval from your high school Counselor and Principal before you enroll.
You will be limited to 11 units (college units) total, per semester.
Conditions for Enrollment:
Student must have prior approval in advance before being enrolled in Concurrent Enrollment college classes. Failure to receive prior approval will result in the course(s) being non-validated and therefore not accepted for Beaumont Unified School District graduation requirements nor will the credits be added to the Beaumont High School Transcript.
Student must have the course(s) completed by the deadline for the course(s) to be placed on their Beaumont High School Transcript. If the student fails to complete the course(s) by the term approved on the contract, the course(s) will be invalid and not approved by Beaumont High School to receive graduation credit.
Students will be able to place up to 60 concurrent credits (after college to HS conversion) on the BHS transcript provided the concurrent courses are being used to meet the minimum or recommended University of California (UC)/California State University (CSU) A-G admissions requirements and/or the minimum high school graduation criteria, and with completion of approval process.
