HISTORY
Though this wasn't an assignment I think that it truly embodies the JAGS program. During the trip we visited the Flight 93 National Memorial, Sharpsburg, as well as staying in the overnight simulation at Heifer International. It think that this trip firstly demonstrates the pillar of investigate the world because we went to the Flight 93 National Memorial, which is one of the 9/11 memorials. 9/11 was an American terrorist attack that directly caused the beginning of the war on Terror, leading to the invasion of Afghanistan and Iraq. Because of this visit to the memorial we were able to investigate a piece of history that lead to conflict that lasted years and happened in many different parts of the world. I also think that it shows the pillar investigate the world because we visited in Heifer International. This is a well known program that works to end hunger throughout the world. On the last night of our visit we were put into a simulation of what people around the world go through when trying to make meals for themselves and those around them. I think that this trip also shows the recognition of perspectives because we got to be given a small portion of things that people in the world go through everyday, including trade, food shortage, communication between communities, and cooking together.
This trip will always be one of the main things I think of when I think of JAGS because it truly was my first experience with the program. During the trip I was able to communicate and connect with the people who will soon be the class mates I am closest to. I was also able to actively participate and connect with the simulation we participated in as a classmate and I tried to build the fire vital to the dinner we were attempting to make. I think that it has made me a better global citizen because with the simulation I was able to get a better understanding of what people throughout the world go through, and with the 9/11 memorial I was able to better understand the heartbreak and reasons that lead the US to go to war in Afghanistan and Iraq.

Communicate Ideas, Recognise Perspectives & Investigate the World
ENGLISH
This project was one from my Accelerated English 9 class in which we were all allowed to choose whatever topic we wanted, and in this case I chose to learn about how different cultures view the constellations. For this project I chose to research the prospectives and stories of people from across the world and history and the stories that they tell of the stars. I think that this project represents the JAGS pillar of recognize perspectives as that is truly what this project was about. I always loved learning about the different constellations and had always heard about the ways that different people would see them and use them throughout the world, and thought that it would be interesting to learn more about the perspectives these people have on the stars that we all see.
I think that this project influenced me because I was able to see just how much something that seems so insignificant can affect people around the world. I think that the process of making this project made me a better global citizen because it caused me to understand how closely connected the cultures from the other side of the world are to ours. I think it made me grow to further appreciate and grow want to understand more about the people that make up the cultures that suround me.
CO-CURRICULAR/EXTRA CURRICULAR
I have been in band since 5th grade and it has honestly been one of the most influential parts of my life. I have found my own sort of community through it, and I will cherish all that it has given me forever. Over the summer the band passes out marching uniforms and asks for volunteers to help. I decided to help pass out the marching hats along with helping in other areas when needed. I think that this represents the Pillar of take action because it was one of my ways to show appreciation for the band program. Through this action I was able to see even more of the behind the scenes work that goes into making this huge program so successful. This voulentering experience led me to have a better understanding of the program and led me to continue volenteering throughtout the year.
I think that this volunteer work made me a better global citizen because it showed me just how much teamwork and cooperation it takes to make big things happen, wheather that means runnign the band program or making change to the world around me. It made me grow as aperson because it gave me a new place to work and volenteer and connect with the people that made up the comunity that i think i connect with most.

Communicate Ideas
WORLD LANGUAGE
This website is from my Spanish 3 class where we learned a lot about grammar and vocabulary surrounding family and home. Because of this we were put into groups for the year called our familias. At different parts of the year we would add different sections depending on which set of grammar and vocabulary we were learning. This project changed how I work because I was forced to work with people I don't know, and having to write all of this website in spanish gave me more practice and made me better at understanding the language.
I think that this project demonstrates the pillar of communicate ideas because it was a team effort to make this website to the quality it is now. I also think that it represents communicating ideas because it shows all that we learned in the class and shows how we could better communicate with those who also speak the Spanish language. I think that this project and class made me a better global citizen because it made me use the language skills I learned to properly communicate to others how much I had grown throughout the class.
SCIENCE
This project is from my Biology class were we partnered up and chose a global issue to research. It was the last project of the year and we were given a list of a lot of topics to choose from. We decided to learn about the effects of the rising ocean salinity, a topic that me and my partner knew very little about. I think this project changed how I work because it allowed me to do a lot of research while working with the people around me.
I think that this represents the pillar of communicate ideas because we are using these slides to communicate to the readers about the effects and danger of the rising ocean salinity. I think my skills in research were bettered because it was researching a different subject, so instead of researching topics relating to an English essay, this caused me to research more about science. I think this made me a better global citizen because it made me see how something that many people, including me, had never heard of, can cause such detrimental effects to the world we all live in.
