This artifact represents the communicating ideas pillar of JAGS. This artifact was the documentary project. We were to choose a topic, conduct research and create a short film around that topic. This assignment demonstrates that I can communcate complex topics, work with a group and create complex projects. This project started with brainstorming, then prelimanry research, then finding interview sources, interviews, compiling and finding clips, organize the short film, and post it. This artifact represents the communication ideas pillar of JAGS. It elaborates on an idea that is presented in the movie Forest Gump. This assignment asked the students to write a 32-second speech on their opinion of Vietnam after watching Forest Gump. This demonstrates my proficiency in JAGS and my competency in delivering complex and diverse ideologies. The ideology that is presented in this artifact is not one that many think of when arguing about the Vietnam War. The ability to comprehend this ideology and present it in an argument is an excellent demonstration of my proficiency in this Global Studies program. This process was relatively simple. We watched the movie, briefly discussed it, then wrote our arguments and presented them. This artifact broadened my global understanding as it allowed me to actually look into another culture and analyze the issues that led to American involvement. I learned how to articulate complex ideas presented by film. I am becoming globally competent as I learn how to communicate complex ideas.
During my sophomore year of high school, me and some of my friends presented a presentation that raised awareness about the danger of the disappearing Bat Habitats. This artifact displays the JAGS pillar of communicating Ideas. This communicated a powerful message about what we could do to help our ecosystems in our world. I learned how to work in a group, communicate complex ideas, contact international experts and discuss large ideas with a massive audience.
This artifact represents the communicative ideas pillar of JAGS. This assignment required a deep understanding of the Passe compose and sought to elaborate on that understanding. This allowed me to learn how to present my ideas in another league efficiently. I learned how to compose projects in another language, learned irregular past participles, and crafted a review component. This artifact allowed me to expand my French and, as a result, taught me to think faster on my feet.
This artifact embodies the Investigate the World pillar of JAGS and highlights my transformative five-day journey in Costa Rica. During this immersive experience, I explored the country’s rich biodiversity, from the vibrant rainforests teeming with wildlife to the pristine beaches along the Pacific coast.
Through engaging conversations with locals and my classmates, I formed deep friendships. This journey allowed me to gain valuable insights into both the similarities and differences between Costa Rica and my home country, particularly in areas such as environmental conservation and community values. Overall, this trip was not just an adventure; it was a profound learning experience that broadened my perspective on global cultures.
