English/AP Language and Composition: Midterm Podcast
Teacher: Mr. Gillette
September 16, 2024- December 20, 2024
Reflection:
This assignment was our Midterm, the instruction for the project was to create a podcast with a main question/topic and have an expert interview, research, and a voice over of our thoughts. My group decided to focus on the question, Does Money Buy Happiness?
Our podcast used the JAGS pillars Recognize Perspectives and Communicate Ideas. As a group we had to view the perspective of the rich and the poor, the individuals that earned or got gifted their income, and what makes certain people happy. We also had to communicate our ideas to our teacher, for more ideas and creativity, as well as , my other group members to equally separate the work and interviews. We also communicated our ideas with an expert that further enhanced our education on the topic.

History/JAGS Model UN: GO Pancake Breakfast
Teacher: Ms. Stone
November 15, 2024
Reflection:
This was my first Model UN event outside of class. We had a different chair, and we had to work with people we were not familiar with. This event was fun and light-hearted, it was the perfect event for GO Pancake, and I also appreciated the College Fair. It was hosted during our crisis and we were able to take a break from the event to view what colleges we were interested in.
The crisis focused on the JAGS pillars Investigate the World, Communicate Ideas, and Take Action. We all had to become educated on the crisis and the country's that were involved background and views. With that information we then needed to communicate what solution would be best for the UN and world. As a chamber we vote on resolutions, motions, and directives and that would not be possible without the pillars presented.

Co-Curricular/Extra Curricular: Track
Advisor: Coach Tsai
February 19, 2025 - May 13, 2025
Reflection:
This track season was my favorite so far, even if it was only my 2nd season. I made a bunch of new friends, and got closer with my previous ones. I also tried a new event this year, which was long jump and even though I was not the best I did pretty good for my first year.
Track expressed the JAGS pillar of Communicate Ideas. Even though each individual has their own separate event and focuses on themselves, we all communicate with coaches and other athletes to decide what is best for the team. A lot of the advice I had gotten was from my fellow peers, so it was helpful to hear how to fix something from someone your own age. We also cheer on for every event, just like a team should.

World Language/Spanish 3: Daily Routine
Teacher: Sra. Dria
October 18, 2024- October 23, 2024
Reflection:
In Spanish 3 you are assigned into a familia (family) that you sit and work with throughout the whole year. You then make up a background with different names, stories, and roles within the familia. This was one of the many projects that we as a familia did all together. This project was assigned during our daily routine unit, and the goal was to make a 3-5 minute video with our familia showing our daily routines, and the new vocabulary and grammar we had learned.
This video would not have been possible without using the JAGS pillar of Communicate Ideas. We all had to communicate how we would form, create, and edit the video. Another form of communication we used to make this project possible was communicated and perfecting our Spanish with our teacher. If we did not communicate some of our script would not have made sense to a Spanish speaker, so it is important to include your teacher and ask questions.

Science/Forensics: Innocence Project Research and Essay
Teacher: Mrs. Janaske
February 4, 2025 - February 7, 2025
Reflection:
Forensics in my Junior year was my favorite class. it has inspired me to look into jobs and careers within the field. This assignment was able to show everything we had learned so far throughout the year. The instruction for this project was to read and research a wrongfully convicted individual story, this includes the crime, witness, evidence, and trial. After the research we were to then write an essay over the entire story of the individual. My case was over Verneal Jimerson, him and his friends were wrongfully convicted for a double murder. His case included misconduct, and a dishonest witness statement.
This research paper used the JAGS pillar of Recognize Perspectives. During the research for this essay, as a writer you had to view the perspectives of the wrongfully convicted, the witnesses, the jury, and why the Innocence decided to help the individual. I learned a lot about not only the process of being tried for a crime, but also the process of being recognized as a wrongfully convicted person. This case was long and we only had a week to complete the essay, so it was stressful. But luckily I do enjoy Forensics, and true crime, which helped make the process go by faster.
