We aren't asking the students to do science,
we are asking them to be scientists!

Constraints- rules or limitations
Criteria- rules, standards or goals against which something can be judged, evaluated or measured
Direction- the way something is moving or facing
Force- a push or a pull that causes an object to start moving, stop moving, or change direction
Gravity- a force that pulls objects together
Motion- the action or process of moving
Pull- a force that draws or attracts something toward it
Push- a force that presses on something or moves it away
Module 1: DQ2 Vocabulary
Balanced forces- forces acting on an object that are equal in size but act in opposite directions, resulting in no change of movement
Friction- a force that acts to slow down or stop movement
Unbalanced forces- forces (pushes and pulls) that are not equal to one another
Module 1: DQ4 Vocabulary
Magnet- a metal object producing a magnetic field that attracts certain objects towards it.
Magnetic Force- a force that acts between magnets or moving electric charges
Magnetism- the force produced by magnets
Static Electricity- an electrical charge that can build up on materials that are poor conductors, causing sparks or movement.
