Reading Skills:

Genre-Expository Text- gives infomation about a topic

Theme- central idea or message the author is trying to convey

Text Features- heading, titles, subtitles, captions

Compare and Contrast- telling how two stories, people in a story, animals, etc. are the same and different

Authro's Purpose- why an author wrote a text/story-Persuade, Informative, Entertain
