To attack the castle, we would attack from all sides; having a quarter of the foot men, horsemen, and archers on each side of the castle. Then, secretly, we would mine directly underneath the castle walls (on the East side) and explode the wall from underneath. The mining would occur for the next 2-4 weeks. Once finished mining under one of the walls of the castle, we would also attack the front gate with a battering ram, distracting the defense inside the castle. While they're distracted with the attacks on the North and East side of the castle, a group of siege towers would roll onto the castle from the South and West, and troops would attack from there. We would use ladders as a backup if the siege towers are destroyed. We would throw Greek fire in the courtyard and at wooden structures, and use our ballistas and mangonels (a type of trebuchet/catapult) to attack stone structures. We would continue the heavy attacks until the people surrendered. We'll pack plenty of supplies; food, water, ammo, Greek fire, building materials, stone, oil, etc. Once the people surrender the land, we will conquer for our lord. If they choose not to surrender, our men will come over the castle wall, armed with axes, spears, swords, halberds, crossbows, longbows, pikes, shields, and Greek fire, and forcefully conquer the land. The horsemen would ride in through a open part of the castle and use broadswords, lances, shields, and spears.
A machine that works like a bow and arrow, where a large arrow is pulled back and shot.
Similar to a catapult, launches heavy projectiles and does a lot of damage.
Used to get troops over a castle wall without the danger of archers and Greek fire.
