Memories of B-EHS: When I remember BEHS, I remember caring teachers and coaches. I am grateful for my education, especially in Chemistry with Mr. Trout and Biology with Mr. Van. Coach Weisner made being on the girls’ golf team so much fun. We had a lot of laughs on those van rides back from our state championship wins! I am also grateful for the many classmates that were great athletes that pushed me to be a better athlete. We had a special community of junior golfers at BEHS, but also athletes that went on to play their respective sports at a high level. It was a fun time to be a Tiger!

Personal: I attended WSU from 1990-1994, majored in humanities and was pre-med. I also continued to run regularly after high school, but mostly longer distances, eventually competing in multiple 5K and 10k races throughout the next decade, as well as a few half marathons and triathlons. I ultimately entered medical school at the University of Washington in 2001, and specialized in Radiation Oncology, completing residency in Philadelphia in 2010. I married Paul Dunn in 2010 (professor at WWU) and we have 2 children, Emily and Elliott (ages 11 and 9). We now live happily back in Skagit Valley, on a tree farm in west Mount Vernon, staying active with our kids, hiking, biking, gardening and skiing when we can
Memories of B-E: I have the best memories of going to state with Wendy Dahl, Anne Donovan (Clark) and Tami Straub, and running the mile relay together. It was always the last event to happen at the end of every track meet, so there was much anticipation for all of us. Mr. Erickson was our incredible coach, always inspiring us to push ourselves to the limit. We all respected him and admired him tremendously. I’m so proud to have represented BEHS during my years running track!
