If you need help finding scholarships, filling out financial aid forms like the FAFSA or WAFSA, or just want general help to learn more about post high school options such as our local 2-year community and technical colleges click on the above College and Career Center link. In addition, if you would like to apply for an apprenticeship, need a work permit or would like to add a work co-op class to your schedule, then please click on the College and Career Center Link above or contact Mrs. Rodriguez.

However, if you are interested in applying to local, state and even out-of-state 4-year colleges either public or private, a good place to start is with your counselor. Your counselor can help you set up a strong 4-year academic plan that demonstrates achievement that goes beyond the typical state graduation requirements.

Equally as important as your academic record and your standardized test scores is your engagement beyond the classroom. One can achieve this through involvement in clubs, ASB, athletics, and/or by participating in activities that show initiative, innovation, and leadership not only at school but also in your community. These extracurricular activities help admission counselors see the person you are beyond your academic records (personal qualities – who you are and what is important to you.)

The next step is to determine the right fit college for you. Whether that college is a two-year community, technical college or a four-year university, it is helpful to speak with your counselor about your goals and aspirations so they can help guide you. The best place to start is with yourself. This will help narrow down the amount of research you will need to do and the type of college search that will produce the best results.

Higher Ed at Lower Cost.

Another way to lower costs is to attend a college that participates in the Western Undergraduate Exchanged called WUE.
