Sekel Scrimmage

Where: BDHS Field House

What: Our goal is not only to have the “Sekel Scrimmage” every year, but to have our BD Unified team start playing more games and competing against other schools. We will continue our inclusive efforts with Unified Sports in floor hockey, track, and any other sport that interests our student-athletes.

Meg Sekel was a special education teacher of 32 years and a true champion for her students both in school and life. “Love it! I miss everyone so much!” was the last text some colleagues received from Meg in a response to a silly selfie picture when she was courageously battling cancer. We whole-heartedly believe she would send the same response to this event and the idea of BDHS being a Unified Champion School. Thank you for helping us honor her legacy of advocacy for all students at BDHS.

National Honor Society presents Veteran's Day

Veteran's day, 2025

When: November 11, 2025

Where: BDHS Commons and Auditorium

What: Each year, the BDHS National Honor Society celebrates and honors our local veterans in a ceremony held at BDHS. A brunch is provided as well as a ceremony in our auditorium in which the BDHS band and a cappella groups perform. Speeches are given by NHS student representatives and each branch of the military is recognized.

Schedule:

8:45-9:30 am: Complimentary breakfast for participating veterans in the BDHS Commons
9:30-10:00 am: NHS presentation of Veterans Day in BDHS Auditorium
10:00 am: Dismissal

Collegiate Day, 2026

Collegiate Signing Day, 2026

When: April 22, 2026 during WIN Time ~ 2:35 pm

Where: BDHS Auditorium

Senior signing day allows BDHS to provide recognition and celebration of all of our student athletes that plan to participate in athletics after high school. Students will be 'signing' their letters of intent and celebrating alongside family, friends, and teammates. This is one of the most special events of the year. Family members are invited to attend!
