Program Summary:
Each student in the Gifted program at BCTHS is entitled to services provided under Chapter 16 and is programmed for through an individual education plan.
Each year we offer a seminar series related to a central theme whereby students build leadership, communication, and the critical thinking skills of analysis, synthesis, and evaluation.
Additionally, we offer students opportunities for acceleration and enrichment.
The following will be our focus for the 2026-2027 school year: Passion Projects
This year, we will be exploring challenges that our community faces, such as:
climate in crisis
decreasing disasters
excellence in education
food insecurity
helping health
intentional prevention
nurturing nature
world without waste
In small groups, students will choose a challenge and work through the process of addressing the needs of the "community" they have identified. We will take a structured problem-solving approach as we work through the ideas of:
making connections
envisioning our goals
designing and testing solutions
developing pathways for change
putting our solutions out there- the pitch
In an ideal world, we would love to have parents join us in May/June for a "pitch" day where the kids highlight their work (provided our vision comes to life).
We’re looking forward to a great year of learning, creativity, and fun together!
