CMA (Common Mastery Artifact) 

refers to a standardized, tangible piece of student work or an assessment benchmark used across a school district or curriculum to evaluate whether students have mastered specific visual art standards.

Rather than relying on traditional written exams, art programs utilize these "artifacts" (such as a specific drawing, sculpture, or portfolio piece) to uniformly assess technical skills, creative application, and critical thinking across different classrooms.
