Football... Parades...Competitions...Fun!
To participate, students should sign up for band in the fall semester. In fall, all wind players will sign-up for the band class and percussionists will sign up for a percussion class. Beginning and Intermediate levels are at standard level. Proficient and Advanced levels are at an honors level and includes a student paper and presentation along w/ submission of performance material for all-district. The classes will primarily work on materials for the marching season and also prepare for a concert in December. Students in these classes should expect to attend all rehearsals and performances, including scheduled summer rehearsals. There are no auditions for the band class, but prior instrumental experience is encouraged. Percussion students do have auditions in the spring in order to place them on equipment for the field show.
Color guard is also part of the marching band performing as dancers and with flags, rifles, and/or sabres. This group meets as a separate class in the fall semester and performs as an active and important visual part of the marching band. They should also expect to attend all rehearsals and performances, including scheduled summer rehearsals. Membership in this group is based on an audition and Director’s approval.
It is highly encouraged that band students take a band class each semester, especially during freshman year.
Containing music written and arranged by Mr. Robert Allen, this show explores the ideas of self-image & self-control unfolded through music from Radiohead, the movie, "Psycho," & other familiar sources.

The Pride of the South Coast was also selected as a participating band along with bands across the country to perform at halftime of the Pop Tarts Bowl at Camping World Stadium in Orlando, Florida on December 28, 2024.
The trip was a HUGE success with students being able to work with college faculty in producing the halftime show, perform in front of nearly 40k plus a nationally televised audience in attendance with students from other schools in states across the country, interact with students from both the Iowa State University and University of Miami Bands, and enjoy roughly 2 days inside the Universal Studios parks together.
Containing music written and arranged by Mr. Robert Allen with hints of espionage, the PSC is trying to break into a series of safes to steal a big score.
