Concert band is the main part of a healthy program!!!
In the fall, students from the marching band will transition over to the concert setting in preparation toward the winter concert. In spring, band students will primarily be split into 2 classes, an honors class (with accomplished and advanced sections) and a standard class (with novice, developing, and intermediate sections). Accomplished and Advanced levels include a student paper and presentation along w/ submission of performance material for all-district. If a student schedule does not permit getting into the class needed, arrangements can be made for you to be enrolled in the needed section during the other class period.
Students in these classes should expect to attend all scheduled rehearsals and performances as these classes will combine for events. Our concert ensembles have a rich history of fun and challenging literature and consistently earn superior ratings from our district's music performance adjudication (MPA). We also traditionally have many students who have participated in numerous honor ensembles, including all-county, all-district, university honor bands, the NC Honors Bands, and NC Governor's School.
It is highly encouraged that band students take a band class each semester, especially during freshman year.
