Ensembles

It is highly recommend that students participate in both concert band and marching band. This will significantly reduce the workload and requirements in the band class. It will also develop students into well-rounded musicians. Although these ensembles are seasonal in nature, any ensemble may prepare or perform at any time.


1st Period: Planning

2nd Period: Music Specilization

3rd Period: Percussion

4th Period: Winds


Concert Band: This ensemble primarily focuses on instrumental skill and musicianship. Concert band consists of a wide range of musical instruments and musical literature that requires skill based learning. (May include performances in the fall.)

Marching Scorps: This military style ensemble performs in parades, football games, events, and competitions. Marching band involves drill, marching, and music. (May include performances in the spring.)

Jazz Ensemble / Combo: This ensemble performs music based on an American art form involving syncopation, harmony, and improvisation. (Year round.)

Winter Guard: A visual performing ensemble, Winter guard is an indoor color guard activity derived from Military Ceremonies or Veterans Organizations Ceremonies. (Marching Band Suggested, aids in experience.)

Percussion Ensemble: A concert/chamber ensemble with only percussionist.

Woodwind Ensemble: A concert/chamber ensemble with only woodwind players.

Brass Ensemble: A concert/chamber ensemble with only brass players.

Wind Ensemble: A concert/chamber ensemble consisting of brass/wind/sting players.
