Instructional Design Principles for Remote Teaching and Learning

The North Carolina Department of Public Instruction and the Friday Institute for Educational Innovation have collaborated to create a series of seven principles for designing instruction for remote learning situations. These principles address: 1) instructional time, 2) connection to families and students, 3) student engagement aligned to standards, 4) equity, choice & flexibility, 5) feedback on student work, 6) collaboration among students, and 7) social and emotional learning.
