Welcome Rising 10 - 12 Graders!
We look forward to helping you navigate class selections and making the best choices for your post-secondary goals! Please attend all your Hawk Quest meetings so you can learn about your graduation requirements, class selections, and complete the registration steps with your Hawk Quest Advisor.
Hawk Quest is a great place to ask questions and make sure you are on the right track to graduation!!
Counselors and Administration will meet with you individually to complete the registration process.
Information about the registration process will be posted regularly and communicated to students and parents through phone calls, email, Hawk Quest, and this website.

CURRICULUM NIGHT~ February 4th @ 5:30pm
This will be tailgate style event with booths set up in the cafeteria by all the departments/programs/classes and extracurricular clubs/activities. You will be able to learn about class opportunities, as well as, extracurricular activities and clubs to get involved in the Black Hawk Community.
This is a great time to chat with teachers, get a head start on planning for course selections, and planning for next steps in high school and beyond.
REGISTRATION ~ February 19th - 24th
All students will work on registration during Hawk Quest each day. Please review the registration process with your student and discuss course selections. Students will bring home a REGISTRATION CARD after the completion of the Hawk Quest Registration lessons for your review. Please sign stating your approval.
FIRST WEEK OF MARCH
Counselors and Administration will meet with students individually to complete the registration process with students entering course selections into Infinite Campus. Please contact your student's counselor with questions.
Upperclassmen Registration Process
Each student will review class selections with their Hawk Quest during the registration process.
Course Review February 19th - 24th
Students will review academics, electives and other class offerings with their Hawk Quest Advisor.

AB Tech Classes
You must be an 11th or 12th grader, have an unweighted GPA of 2.8+ and fill out an AB Tech application to take AB Tech Courses.
When completing NBHS registration, you will chose AB TECH PLACEHOLDER and meet with Ms. Garland (our AB Tech liaison) THIS spring to discuss your options further.

Criminal Justice Courses Taught at NBHS by Ms. Anders
Welding, Electrical, HVAC and other trade related certification courses offered
North Carolina Virtual Public Schools (NCVPS) awards high school course credits to students who successfully complete online core courses, Advanced Placement courses, and/or honors courses. Students may use NCVPS online courses to meet high school graduation requirements or enhance transcripts for college applications. Students should meet with their counselor to enroll in an NCVPS online high school course and have the course added to their schedule. Must have a 3.0+ GPA & have principals approval.
When completing NBHS registration, you will chose NCVPS PLACEHOLDER and meet with your counselor THIS SPRING to discuss your options further.
Course Selection
Students will receive a REGISTRATION CARD in Hawk Quest and will work with their Hawk Quest Advisor on choosing appropriate classes.
Parents, please review the course selections with your student. Students will bring this card home for your review and signature by February 24th. Students will bring the completed registration card to their Course Input Meeting the following week.
Counselors and Administration work with each student to ensure they in enrolled in the appropriate courses. Enrolling in AP, dual enrollment, NCVPS course require contracts due to the nature of the courses.

Final Course Selection
Counselors and administrators will meet with students individually to input course selections into Infinite Campus beginning in March using the completed Registration Card. This step will complete the registration process.
